Vehicle Tax – A legal requirement for any vehicle kept or used on a UK road. The amount of tax paid depends on the sort of vehicle, and its CO2 emissions. The more CO2 produced, the higher the tax. Vehicles producing less than 100g of CO2 per KM pay no tax. Smaller cars tend to pay less tax as they produce less CO2. A diesel Citroen C2 produces around 113 g/km of CO2 whilst a high performance C Class Mercedes produces up to 232 g/km.
